Game Based Learning: Wheatland students use games to enhance learning. Games are a great outlet for creativity and innovation. Computer programming is another focus, which is often fueled by our student’s (and Mr. Hartley’s :)) love for games.

Wheatland Center School was recently spotlighted in a documentary produced by 2K Games. The film focuses on gaming in education. Wheatland uses games to enhance learning and keep students engaged.

The film will be released. Stay tuned for a link!

Learning is all about meeting objectives, creating memories, instilling a sense of problem solving tools to use in every day life, higher level thinking (answer is not right in front of you).

Games are great incentives, but also using the engagement to our advantage.

Being relevant to students. Teaching them the way they learn. Get a new game, learn how to play on their own. Need to read wikis, and cheat sites for hours to become a master. Trial and error learning.

Winning, high scores, competition, etc.
